This firmware is not signed. This means you cannot restore to it in Finder, the Apple Devices app, iTunes, or idevicerestore. The instructions below are included for reference only.

Windows

  1. Install the latest version of Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Plug your HomePod mini in to your PC.
  3. Open Apple Devices, and navigate to your HomePod mini.
  4. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  5. Select the AudioAccessory5,1_15.2_19K52_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  6. Wait for the restore to complete, and the HomePod mini to reboot.

macOS

  1. Plug your HomePod mini in to your Mac.
  2. Navigate to your HomePod mini in Finder.
  3. Hold the Option or Alt key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  4. Select the AudioAccessory5,1_15.2_19K52_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the HomePod mini to reboot.

Linux

  1. Install idevicerestore.
  2. Plug your HomePod mini in to your PC.
  3. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads
  4. To perform a full erase restore, type idevicerestore -e AudioAccessory5,1_15.2_19K52_Restore.ipsw and press enter.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the HomePod mini to reboot.

Windows

  1. Open PowerShell, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd Downloads
  2. Type Get-FileHash AudioAccessory5,1_15.2_19K52_Restore.ipsw -Algorithm SHA1
  3. The output of the command should match the following checksum: f826a137b780df4bbb086d2f723cb46b8064d8a1. If it doesn't, you may need to redownload the file.

macOS

  1. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads
  2. Type openssl sha1 AudioAccessory5,1_15.2_19K52_Restore.ipsw

Apple Music Voice Plan

  • Apple Music Voice Plan is a new subscription tier that gives you access to all songs, playlists, and stations in Apple Music using Siri

Siri

  • Voice recognition support for up to six users in a home in French (Canada, France), Spanish (Mexico, Spain, US), and German (Austria, Germany)

Home app

  • Location Services and Sound Check settings are now per-home settings that apply to all HomePod devices and Siri-enabled accessories

  • Allow Explicit Content settings is now a per-user setting for Music, Podcasts and third-party music services

  • Update Listening History settings is a now per-user, per-device setting that apply to Music and Podcasts
