Windows

  1. Install the latest version of Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Plug your iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi) in to your PC.
  3. Open Apple Devices, and navigate to your iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi).
  4. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  5. Select the iPad_Air_M2_18.3_22D63_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  6. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi) to reboot.

macOS

  1. Plug your iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi) in to your Mac.
  2. Navigate to your iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi) in Finder.
  3. Hold the Option or Alt key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  4. Select the iPad_Air_M2_18.3_22D63_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi) to reboot.

Linux

  1. Install idevicerestore.
  2. Plug your iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi) in to your PC.
  3. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads
  4. To perform a full erase restore, type idevicerestore -e iPad_Air_M2_18.3_22D63_Restore.ipsw and press enter.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPad Air (M2, 13-inch, WiFi) to reboot.

Windows

  1. Open PowerShell, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd Downloads
  2. Type Get-FileHash iPad_Air_M2_18.3_22D63_Restore.ipsw -Algorithm SHA1
  3. The output of the command should match the following checksum: b7f818a133d4ed5e36087ebe8e5392502d883495. If it doesn't, you may need to redownload the file.

macOS

  1. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads

Notification summaries (iPad with M1 and later)

  • Easily manage settings for notification summaries from the Lock Screen

  • Updated style for summarized notifications better distinguishes them from other notifications by using italicized text as well as the glyph

  • Notification summaries for News & Entertainment apps are temporarily unavailable, and users who opt-in will see them again when the feature becomes available

This update also includes the following enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Calculator repeats the last mathematical operation when you tap the equals sign again

  • Fixes an issue where the keyboard might disappear when initiating a typed Siri request
