Windows

  1. Install the latest version of iTunes from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Plug your iPhone XR in to your PC.
  3. Open iTunes, and navigate to your iPhone XR.
  4. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  5. Select the iPhone11,8_16.2_20C65_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  6. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone XR to reboot.

macOS

  1. Plug your iPhone XR in to your Mac.
  2. Navigate to your iPhone XR in Finder.
  3. Hold the Option or Alt key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  4. Select the iPhone11,8_16.2_20C65_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone XR to reboot.

Linux

  1. Install idevicerestore.
  2. Plug your iPhone XR in to your PC.
  3. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads
  4. To perform a full erase restore, type idevicerestore -e iPhone11,8_16.2_20C65_Restore.ipsw and press enter.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone XR to reboot.

Windows

  1. Open PowerShell, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd Downloads
  2. Type Get-FileHash iPhone11,8_16.2_20C65_Restore.ipsw -Algorithm SHA1
  3. The output of the command should match the following checksum: 6e0454487e069e842e2e6a5df17f6f922b65d395. If it doesn't, you may need to redownload the file.

macOS

  1. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads

  • News articles in Weather display information relevant to the weather in that location

  • Participant Cursors in Notes allow you to see live indicators as others make updates in a shared note

  • AirDrop now automatically reverts to Contacts Only after 10 minutes to prevent unwanted requests to receive content

  • Crash Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models

  • Fixes an issue that causes some notes not to sync with iCloud after updates are made
