Windows

  1. Install the latest version of Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Plug your iPhone 12 Pro in to your PC.
  3. Open Apple Devices, and navigate to your iPhone 12 Pro.
  4. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  5. Select the iPhone13,2,iPhone13,3_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  6. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone 12 Pro to reboot.

macOS

  1. Plug your iPhone 12 Pro in to your Mac.
  2. Navigate to your iPhone 12 Pro in Finder.
  3. Hold the Option or Alt key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  4. Select the iPhone13,2,iPhone13,3_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone 12 Pro to reboot.

Linux

  1. Install idevicerestore.
  2. Plug your iPhone 12 Pro in to your PC.
  3. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads
  4. To perform a full erase restore, type idevicerestore -e iPhone13,2,iPhone13,3_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw and press enter.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone 12 Pro to reboot.

Windows

  1. Open PowerShell, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd Downloads
  2. Type Get-FileHash iPhone13,2,iPhone13,3_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw -Algorithm SHA1
  3. The output of the command should match the following checksum: 27851c0a21410dee0c2289e82f4b761a97ae2f5a. If it doesn't, you may need to redownload the file.

macOS

  1. Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g. cd ~/Downloads
  2. Type openssl sha1 iPhone13,2,iPhone13,3_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw

iOS 14.4 includes the following improvements for your iPhone:

• Smaller QR codes can be recognized by Camera

• Option to classify Bluetooth device type in Settings for correct identification of headphones for audio notifications

• Notifications for when the camera on your iPhone is unable to be verified as a new, genuine Apple camera in iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max

This release also fixes the following issues:

• Image artifacts could appear in HDR photos taken with iPhone 12 Pro

• Fitness widget may not display updated Activity data

• Typing may be delayed and word suggestions may not appear in the keyboard

• The keyboard may not come up in the correct language in Messages

• Audio stories from the News app in CarPlay may not resume after being paused for spoken directions or Siri

• Enabling Switch Control in Accessibility may prevent phone calls from being answered from the Lock Screen
