✗ This firmware is not signed. This means you cannot restore to it in iTunes.
The instructions below are included for reference only.
Windows
- Install the latest version of iTunes from the Microsoft Store.
- Plug your iPhone 6s in to your PC.
- Open iTunes, and navigate to your iPhone 6s.
- Hold the Shift key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
- Select the
iPhone_4.7_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw
file that you downloaded.
- Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone 6s to reboot.
macOS
- Plug your iPhone 6s in to your Mac.
- Navigate to your iPhone 6s in Finder.
- Hold the Option or Alt key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
- Select the
iPhone_4.7_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw
file that you downloaded.
- Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone 6s to reboot.
Linux
- Install idevicerestore.
- Plug your iPhone 6s in to your PC.
- Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g.
cd ~/Downloads
- To perform a full erase restore, type
idevicerestore -e iPhone_4.7_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw
and press enter.
- Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone 6s to reboot.
Windows
- Open PowerShell, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g.
cd Downloads
- Type
Get-FileHash iPhone_4.7_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw -Algorithm SHA1
- The output of the command should match the following checksum:
b2bc246798e036e1b119995a8a51a28518ead5d6
. If it doesn't, you may need to redownload the file.
macOS
- Open a terminal, and navigate to the IPSW file that you downloaded, e.g.
cd ~/Downloads
- Type
openssl sha1 iPhone_4.7_14.4_18D52_Restore.ipsw
- The output of the command should match the following checksum:
b2bc246798e036e1b119995a8a51a28518ead5d6
. If it doesn't, you may need to redownload the file.
Linux

iOS 14.4 includes the following improvements for your iPhone:
- Smaller QR codes can be recognized by Camera
- Option to classify Bluetooth device type in Settings for correct identification of headphones for audio notifications
- Notifications for when the camera on your iPhone is unable to be verified as a new, genuine Apple camera in iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
This release also fixes the following issues:
- Image artifacts could appear in HDR photos taken with iPhone 12 Pro
- Fitness widget may not display updated Activity data
- Typing may be delayed and word suggestions may not appear in the keyboard
- The keyboard may not come up in the correct language in Messages
- Audio stories from the News app in CarPlay may not resume after being paused for spoken directions or Siri
- Enabling Switch Control in Accessibility may prevent phone calls from being answered from the Lock Screen
